World Wide Web (WWW)
Imagine a world without cat videos and memes. Thanks to Tim Berners-Lee, we've been surfing the web since 1991. That's right, the Internet is just a smidge older than your high school yearbook. With the web came along Web Browsers: Netscape Navigator, the explorer of the early web, hit the scene in the mid-'90s. Dial-up tones and AIM chats, anyone?
DVD (Digital Versatile Disc)
First of all, did you know DVD stood for Digital Versatile Disc? I thought the V stood for Video!?
Before binge-watching was a thing, there was the DVD. Introduced in 1995, it's the OG of movie nights. Bet you never thought your Jurassic Park DVD was a dino-treasure!
Wi-Fi
Ever marveled at the magic of wireless internet? The first version of Wi-Fi stepped onto the scene in 1997. Say goodbye to dial-up, and hello to the sweet sound of a modem handshake. A prototype test bed for a wireless local area network (WLAN) was developed in 1992 by a team of researchers from the Radiophysics Division of the CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) in Australia, led by John O'Sullivan.
